Before diving straight into what I have to say, I would like to make it very clear that this is no article on the economics of the recession the world is facing these days. It's just my personal thought on the impact the recession is having on the people around me.
'Recession-' meaning 'going back' has become a buzzword these days and particularly in places like my campus where my batch is soon to face the placements. Everyone seems to be concerned about what will be their future in these turbulent times when the corporate world is bent on cutting down their existing staff and looking for lesser new recruits. People around are ready to compromise and let go of their dreams for anything that would provide some stability in these troubled times.
But aren't our situations a reflection of what we are? If we continue to be pessimistic and let our dreams recede along with the economy then surely it will require more than a Herculean effort to beat this recession.
All I want to say to anyone reading this post is that please don't let your dreams and aspirations recede. They may not be the only thing essential to emerge out of this dark cave but certainly they will act as a beacon to lead our ways. I am no expert on either economics or life; all I have to say is the way people react to circumstances is sometimes more important than the circumstances that caused the reaction.
